The contract agreement, if ratified, will be good for four years and will cover 13,000 members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299. It includes wage increases, a ratification bonus and revised layoff language, according to the report.
Union members will vote to ratify the contract later this week.
“There was true compromise by both sides to reach this agreement. This ends nearly two years of very challenging negotiations and serves as a foundation for UC and AFSCME to build on going forward,” Dwaine Ducket, UC vice president for human resources, told the Contra Costa Times.
AFSCME members at UC hospitals went on strike in November and May last year.
