The medical staff at Uvalde (Texas) Memorial Hospital has issued a “no confidence” vote in CEO Adam Apolinar, BSN, RN, Uvalde Leader News reported March 11.
The hospital’s board has been made aware of concerns by some members of the medical staff, including the vote, Uvalde Memorial Board President Ben Elliott said in a March 11 statement shared with Becker’s.
“The Board took those concerns seriously and conducted a thorough review of the underlying issues,” Mr. Elliott said in the statement. “Appropriate actions were taken, and the Board is confident that the matters have been addressed.”
Mr. Apolinar joined the hospital in 2015 as COO and has served as CEO since July 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“At this time, the Board considers the issue resolved and is focused on supporting our employees, medical staff, and leadership team, including the CEO, as we continue working together to meet the needs of our patients and community,” Mr. Elliott said.
Uvalde Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
