As part of the plan, Glen Cove Hospital’s inpatient beds will be removed beginning next year, and the orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation, brain injury rehabilitation and psychiatry programs will be moved elsewhere, according to the report. Essentially, Glen Cove Hospital will be an ambulatory care facility, with a 24-hour emergency room, ambulatory surgery and an outpatient cancer treatment center, according to Newsday.

North Shore-LIJ will find positions elsewhere in the system for all affected employees, according to the report.
