More than 500 resident and fellow physicians represented by the Committee of Interns and Residents SEIU Healthcare at New York City-based One Brooklyn Health have reached a tentative agreement with the system that includes a 14.5% wage increase over three years.
Four things to know:
1. The union and system reached a verbal tentative agreement July 29, a union spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s. The CIR received the final signed memorandum of agreement from the system Aug. 5 and will hold a ratification vote from Aug. 11-13.
2. The tentative agreement includes retroactive pay to Jan. 1, 2026, an increase to professional education benefits to $1,350 to pay to help cover exam fees and other education expenses, increased ride service reimbursement, and updated language on work schedules and transportation, the union spokesperson said in an Aug. 10 statement shared with Becker’s.
3. If approved, the contract will go into effect retroactive to Nov. 1, 2025, and will expire Oct. 31, 2028.
4. More than 3,000 CIR physicians are bargaining across New York City for contracts at 10 hospitals and health systems, which included One Brooklyn Health.
One Brooklyn Health declined to comment when reached by Becker’s.
