Nomad Health adds freelance nursing positions to online marketplace

New York City-based Nomad Health expanded its online, temporary healthcare staffing platform to include short-term nursing positions July 11, nearly one year after launching its platform for physician staffing.

The platform launched in Texas Tuesday and will expand across the country throughout 2017 and 2018 to allow nurses the opportunity to find short-term clinical work in hospitals and health systems nationwide.

The addition of short-term staffing options for nurses addresses a critical shortage in the market that is expected to increase as the U.S. population ages, officials said.

“As the population ages, the pressures put on our healthcare systems and clinicians will soar,” said Kevin Ryan, chairman and co-founder of Nomad Health. “It should be much easier to hire high quality nurses to address patient needs, and Nomad is providing an innovative digital solution to do just that.”
