The new jobs would include both full-time and part-time positions.
In the application the health system filed with the city in December seeking conditional use permits for the construction project, Marshfield Clinic initially said the new hospital would have approximately 500 employees. However, that number was an “early conservative estimate,” a hospital spokesperson said, according to the report.
Marshfield Clinic modified the figure based on formulas that calculated how many employees would be needed to staff the hospital. The doubling of employees is not expected to affect the conditional use permits, which the City Council approved last week, according to the report.
Part of the new hospital could open in 2017, and the entire construction project is expected to be completed and fully operational by summer 2018.
