Responsibilities include and are not limited to hands on training and education to staff with ongoing, new billing and coding processes. Audit patient charts for accuracy of charges and to maintain compliance standards. Must have experience with UB04 and CMS1500 billing claim forms, knowledge of template and profile file maintenance, EDI and ERA submission, transmission and working files, fee schedule, charge master, templates and profile updates, data entry, answering phones and patient questions. Ability to run, review and delegate as appropriate system reports to reduce debit and credit AR days and balances. Contact patients or insurance as needed to resolve more involved accounts, understanding of appeals process to get claims paid. CPC certification a plus. Contracting and negotiating surgery rates with insurance, work comp and self-funded carriers. Liaison with external venders as necessary. This is a full time exempt position.
Requirements:
3 years hands on ASC Billing Manager/Supervisor experience.
Knowledge of UB04 and CMS1500 claim processes.
Experience with CPT, ICD9 and understanding of ICD10 coding.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
