Jackson-Madison County General Hospital to hire 200+ nurses

Jackson (Tenn.)-Madison County General Hospital, a part of Jackson-based West Tennessee Healthcare, intends to add more than 200 nursing positions to address growing demand in the hospital’s emergency department, WBBJ News reports.

Lisa Piercey, MD, WTH executive vice president, said the hospital began admitting more patients following the closure of several rural hospitals in the area. 

Dr. Piercey said the hospital may also hire dozens of physicians to meet demand, the report states.
