This is an increase from April’s numbers, when healthcare added 45,200 jobs. Over the past year, healthcare has added 408,000 jobs.
Here is how parts of the healthcare industry fared in May.
1. Hospital employment grew by 15,700.
2. Ambulatory care services added the most jobs, with 27,600. That number includes physician offices (5,900), home health care services (8,400) and outpatient care centers (4,500).
3. Nursing and residential care facilities added 3,500 jobs.
