Beth Israel Lahey hospitals finalize nurse contract with pay hikes

Members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association at Beverly (Mass.) Hospital and Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester have approved a new three-year labor contract, according to an April 18 union news release shared with Becker’s

The agreement covers 750 nurses. According to the union, it includes:

  • Wage increases of up to 30% over the life of the contract, depending on years of service.
  • Across-the-board wage increases totaling 18.5%: 7% in 2025, 6% in 2026 and 5% in 2027.
  • Annual 4% raises built into a stepped wage scale.
  • Yearly increase to the entry-level step on the scale.
  • A new 4% raise for nurses at the top of the pay scale.

“Our MNA nurses at Northeast are pleased to have ratified our new contract which continues to focus our efforts on retaining and recruiting experienced registered nurses in order to provide safe quality patient care for the community that we love,” Larn Beard, RN, co-chairperson of the MNA local bargaining unit at Northeast Hospital Corp., said in the release.
