McCready Memorial Hospital Lays Off 18

The McCready Foundation in Crisfield, Md., the parent of McCready Memorial Hospital, has laid off 18 employees from the hospital and its Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, according to a Delmarva Now report.

Five additional employees were transitioned from full- to part-time status. Of the laid off employees, seven treated patients, seven more were clerical workers and four were in management, according to the report.

Officials cited lower patient volume as the reason for the staff cuts.
