Under the proposed deal, WVUHS will acquire St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va., and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, also in Parkersburg, will merge into the system. St. Joseph’s is currently owned by Signature Hospital Corp.
A certificate of need has already been filed and is awaiting approval. If approved, WVUHS has said it will retain all current employees of the hospitals, according to the report.
The groups hope to finalize their integration by Feb. 1, 2011.
