Highmark filed documents with Pennsylvania’s insurance department last week, noting that John Paul — leader of Highmark’s Integrated Delivery System — is heading the recruitment and hopes to have a permanent executive team within 90 days of the deal’s closing.
Currently, Pittsburgh-based West Penn is led by an interim management team from Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group.
The documents also revealed that Highmark has spent roughly $740 million of the $1 billion it hopes to spend on provider network development, according to the report.
