1. Under the deal, UNC would provide legal, clinical and other professional consulting and management services, according to the report.
2. The deal won’t involve any sale or exchange of assets, UNC and Wayne Memorial said, according to the report.
3. Furthermore, Wayne Memorial’s board will maintain local control and no layoffs are expected at Wayne Memorial as a result of the deal.
4. UNC and Wayne Memorial expect to sign a management deal in the near future.
5. Once the deal is complete, Wayne Memorial will be the ninth hospital for UNC to own or manage.
