Washington Hospital, UCSF Medical Center Strike Affiliation Deal

Fremont, Calif.-based Washington Hospital Health System will form a strategic relationship with UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, intended to enhance specialty services and clinical training for Washington Hospital patients and staff, according to a report by the Oakland Tribune.

Washington Hospital will remain independent under the partnership, which is a fulfillment of the system’s goal to affiliate with an academic teaching hospital, according to Washington Hospital CEO Nancy Farber, as quoted in the report.

 

UCSF Medical Center will provide increased access to mental health, pediatric and palliative care for Washington Hospital patients, according to the report.
