Officials from all three organizations said the proposed acquisition will enhance care coordination for patients treated at Wake Forest Baptist and High Point Regional.
The organizations will create a new High Point Regional board comprising representatives from High Point Regional, Wake Forest Baptist. UNC Health Care will also maintain representation on the board through the transition period.
The three organizations will engage in the due diligence process during the next several months. Officials said they aim to finalize the transaction and integrate High Point Regional and Wake Forest Baptist by the end of next summer.
