Rural hospitals and those with large Medicaid populations will receive the largest payments, which range from just over $3,000 to more than $3 million.
The federal government approved the accelerated payments. Accelerating the payments will make hospitals in the state eligible for higher federal matching funds for Medicaid, which were made available by last year’s Stimulus Act.
