Vanguard Doesn’t Plan Major Change of Leadership for Detroit Medical Center

Officials from Vanguard Health Systems, which took over eight-hospital Detroit Medical Center at the beginning of the year, have said it does not expect major turnover among leaders at the health system, according to a Detroit Free Press report.

In fact, Vanguard expects less executive turnover at DMC than has occurred at its other facilities, according to the report.

“The CEO has done a terrific job”, said Keith Pitts, Vanguard’s vice chairman, in the report. Any transitions that will take place are expected to be complete by spring, he said.

Vanguard owns 26 hospitals and healthcare facilities in five states.
