The two parties have completed a purchase sale agreement and expect the transaction to be complete this summer, according to a UVA Health May 7 news release.
The practice comprises 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. All existing employees at the practice will stay on under UVA Health ownership.
Piedmont Family Practice also has three clinical services: Piedmont Family Practice, which features general health services, diabetes counseling, in-office surgery, women’s health and pediatrics; Piedmont Urgent Care, which offers COVID-19 testing, lab testing and general urgent-care services; and The Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center, which offers weight maintenance and weight loss programs, screenings, body composition analysis, non-surgical weight loss, and mental health services.
