USC's Keck Medicine strengthens ties to Mexico City with new research, academic agreement

The Los Angeles-based University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and the Ministry of Health in Mexico City, Mexico signed an agreement to facilitate research and academic opportunities for USC students.

According to the university, the number of degree-seeking students from Mexico has more than doubled in the past five years. Recent partnerships between the university and Mexico have aimed to address several health issues affecting the country, including drug abuse, an aging population and the alleviation of poverty.

"We look forward with great excitement to this latest chapter in the ongoing story of USC, Mexico City and the power of collaboration," said Thomas Jackiewicz, senior vice president and CEO of Keck Medicine at USC.
