The Washington (Pa.) Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center have formed a joint venture agreement to operate urgent care centers, according to a joint news release.

The centers will be named “UPMC Urgent Care with The Washington Hospital.” The first center will be the existing Washington Hospital Urgent Care Center, but the organizations plan to open two new sites within the next 18 months.

Emergency Resource Management, a division of UPMC, will manage the centers and employ the physicians, nurses and other staff. The joint venture sites will join existing UPMC Urgent Care locations.
