Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway rejected the three-system merger in the beginning of January 2012. Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Healthcare and St. Joseph Health System have plans to merge without University Hospital to form KentuckyOne Health.
Dr. Ramsey stands by the University Hospital’s need for financial aid and plans to pursue alternative financial resources for the hospital to continue offering healthcare to the Louisville community.
