According to the allegations by the TennCare Provider Fraud Task Force, Kindred and the associated PharMercia billed TennCare for more pharmaceuticals than were administered at its Knoxville facility between 2003 and 2006. The concerns of a billing clerk at the facility prompted the investigation, according to the report.
Kindred denies any wrongdoing.
