The organizations signed a letter of intent to merge in September. Under the agreement, UnityPoint Health-Methodist will become the sole parent organization for the 220-bed Proctor, and it will add three members from Proctor to its board. UnityPoint Health-Methodist will still be a senior affiliate of UnityPoint Health, which is based in West Des Moines, Iowa.
UnityPoint Health-Methodist currently includes Methodist Medical Center. Proctor will become a separate hospital campus and will be renamed UnityPoint Health-Proctor.
