Although Methodist has told its employees about the preliminary talks with Proctor, neither Proctor nor Methodist would confirm or deny affiliation discussions, according to the report.
Earlier this year, Proctor announced its intentions to sell its primary care practices to Peoria-based OSF HealthCare on the grounds that Proctor lacked the resources to maintain them. However, the sale negotiations ended without an agreement, and the memo of understanding expired June 30, an OSF spokesman told the Journal Star.
