UnityPoint Health-Des Moines affiliates with Grinnell Regional: 3 things to know

UnityPoint Health-Des Moines (Iowa) and Grinnell (Iowa) Regional Medical Center, in partnership with the Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health Care, announced their finalized affiliation Jan. 3.

Here are three things to know about the transaction.

1. Under the agreement — which was effective Jan. 1 — UPH-DM will become the sole corporate owner of Grinnell Regional.

2. UPH-DM and the University of Iowa Health Care will provide high-quality clinical services to Grinnell Regional and surrounding areas, and work with the hospital to share best practices.

3. Grinnell Regional will also be rebranded UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center as part of the transaction.
