According to the union, four newly elected members of the California Legislature have recently added their names to an already extensive list of current and former legislators opposed to the sale, including Assemblymembers Connie Leyva (D-Pacoima), David Chiu (D-San Francisco), Kansen Chu (D-San Jose) and Patrick O’Donnell (D-Long Beach).
In addition to the state legislators, three U.S. Representatives and multiple mayors, county officials, labor unions and community organizations all across California have expressed concerns over the sale. Many concerns also stem from Prime’s record and business practices, according to a SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West press release.
