Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, N.C., is discussing a potential affiliation with the University of North Carolina Health System in Chapel Hill, according to an Asheville Citizen-Times report.
County-owned Pardee is not for sale, as rumors suggested last fall, but discussions may end with UNC managing the facility.
The 222-bed hospital’s chairman said an affiliation with state-owned UNC became a serious consideration only a few weeks ago, after meeting with UNC Health System’s CEO.
