The hospital, also located in Mobile, is currently operated by St. Louis-based Ascension, a 139-hospital system.
No official announcement about the purchase has been made, but sources told the news station the university would provide more information April 18. A special meeting is called for April 18 to “consider a strategic transaction,” the report continued.
Neither USA Health nor Ascension responded to requests for comment by the time of publication.
