The health system’s board unanimously decided Tuesday not to consolidate the facilities following an examination of community demographics, patient population and the area’s economic viability, the report states.

ThedaCare conducted a survey earlier this year to gauge community interest in combining the two hospitals. Results from the study indicated mixed support for the merged entity. Neenah community officials also conducted a survey regarding the proposed consolidation. The results of that survey indicated strong opposition to the creation of a single facility, according to the report.
