Under the deal, Bowling Green-Warren County Community Hospital Corp., doing business as The Medical Center, would acquire Caverna Memorial. Caverna Memorial will become The Medical Center at Caverna when the transaction is complete. The deal is expected to close at the end of the year.
Established 48 years ago, Caverna Memorial is a 25-bed, nonprofit critical access hospital. The Medical Center is a 337-bed nonprofit regional referral hospital.
Upon its acquisition of Caverna, Bowling Green, Ky.-based Commonwealth Health Corporation, the parent company of The Medical Center, will operate five acute care hospitals in southcentral Kentucky.
