Rockdale, Texas-based Little River Healthcare ended its affiliation with the Houston County Hospital District, which owns Timberlands Hospital, in June, forcing the hospital to close.
However, Deborah Blackwell, president of the Houston County Hospital District, told KTRE-9 News Nov. 1 the district is in negotiations with Austin-based Crockett Healthcare Partnership to potentially reopen the hospital.
“Crockett Healthcare Partnership is very excited about increasing services as the utilization demands,” Ms. Blackwell told KTRE-9 News.
It is unclear when a decision will be made on the issue.
