Steward initially acquired the hospitals — 86-bed Tempe (Ariz.) St. Luke’s Hospital and Mountain Vista Medical Center, a 178-bed hospital in Mesa, Ariz. — through its merger with Franklin, Tenn.-based Iasis Healthcare, which was finalized Sept. 29.

Tempe St. Luke’s is a part of Phoenix-based St. Luke’s Medical Center, which Steward also acquired in the transaction.
