State makes final offer on LSU hospital deals

State officials will make their final offer to the Shreveport, La.-based Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana for a renegotiated contract to continue operating hospitals affiliated with Louisiana State University in Shreveport and Monroe, according to the Clay Center Dispatch.

The contract offer to the Biomedical Research Foundation is the last offer to be made. Renegotiated contracts with other providers currently overseeing LSU safety net services have already been proposed in closed-door meetings, according to the article.

The state commissioner of administration Jay Dardenne said he hopes to reveal the terms of all the negotiated contracts next week.

Mr. Dardenne said the north Louisiana deal was the most difficult to due contentious attitudes between the research foundation and LSU leaders.
