St. Joseph Health System Buys Bellville General Hospital in Texas

Bryan, Texas-based St. Joseph Health System has acquired 32-bed Bellville (Texas) General Hospital.

No job cuts are expected as part of the deal, according to a news release. St. Joseph will manage the operations of Bellville, the only hospital in Austin County, but the Bellville Hospital District will still lease the land and facility.

Under the agreement, the acquired hospital will become Bellville St. Joseph Health Center and adopt Catholic sponsorship. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
