SOMC will remain an independent, community-owned hospital, but its affiliation with OhioHealth will let it maintain access to the system’s wide array of services, such as its telemedicine network.

OhioHealth had owned 222-bed SOMC for more than 20 years until both parties agreed SOMC should leave the system in 2006, according to the report.
