The contractor discussed the dilemma at a House hearing on the Department of Veteran Affairs’ construction projects. According to the report, the agency accepted part of the blame for construction delays, admitting top officials took too much time picking medical equipment for the new facility. Agency official Robert Petzel said it was the VA’s intention and priority to fit the hospital with “the most up-to-date [equipment],” according to the report.
