Rochester Regional, St. Lawrence Health System to affiliate

Rochester (N.Y.) Regional Health, a four-hospital system, signed a nonbinding affiliation agreement with St. Lawrence Health System, a two-hospital system in Potsdam, N.Y., the organizations announced Sept. 6.

Here are three things to know:

1. St. Lawrence Health System started its partnership search in 2017, according to a news release obtained by Becker’s Hospital Review, and began discussions with several organizations.

2. Throughout the next several months, the health system will engage in due diligence and discussions to work toward a definitive agreement, which they expect to sign by the end of 2018.

3. Officials said they aim to implement the final agreement no later than fall 2019.
