Officials at Cleveland-based Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, an investment banking firm that oversaw the transaction, said the terms of the agreement have yet to be disclosed.

According a press release issued by Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, RiverBend Medical Group maintains more than 100 providers in six locations with multiple specialties. Mercy Medical Center is owned by the Sisters of Providence Health System, also in Springfield, Mass.

“The joining of these two clinically excellent and financially strong providers – one with expertise in the delivery of outpatient care and the other with expertise in inpatient care and related services – creates a strong clinically integrated network that will better meet the health care needs of the local community,” said Scott Wolf, president of Mercy Medical Center.
