Ottumwa Regional will be the first hospital owned by the five-month-old RegionalCare, according to the report. Officials from the hospital said that no changes will occur in the hospital’s charity care or community benefits as a result of the purchase.
The hospital also plans to establish an independent community foundation once the facility’s long-term debts are paid, according to the report.
