Kennewick Public Hospital District, which owns Trios Health, announced the negotiations Sept. 12.

Marv Kinney, president of the KPHD board of commissioners, said the structure of a potential deal has not been finalized.

Trios Health filed for Chapter 9 debt reorganization in June and has since implemented several strategies to improve its financial health.

The health system has maintained a strategic collaboration with UW Medicine since 2015.

UW Medicine and RCCH HealthCare Partners also maintain a relationship. RCCH HealthCare owns a hospital within UW Medicine’s accountable care network, according to the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business.
