The two parties signed an agreement for the assets in early July, with financial terms from the transaction not shared.

The purchase aims to expand access to cost-effective laboratory services in Ohio. Most of the outreach testing formerly performed by OhioHealth will be provided by Quest’s Pittsburgh-based full-service laboratory, according to an Oct. 14 news release.

“OhioHealth will continue to own and operate its network of hospital labs for inpatient and hospital-based outpatient care as well as anatomic pathology and oncology services,” the release said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
