Iowa’s Genesis Health Extends Contract with Illinois Hospital

Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Health Systems has extended its contract with Mercer County Hospital in Aledo, Ill., and will manage the hospital for one more year, according to a report by the Quad-City Times.

The contract is intended to extend the relationship between the two organizations while they formally draft an affiliation agreement, according to the report.

The hospital is also currently searching for a permanent CEO to replace interim CEO Jeff Cooper, a vice president with Genesis. A new CEO is expected to be named within a month, according to the report.
