Under the agreement, Prime will acquire St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City and St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Mo. Prime will also acquire three Carondelet Health long-term care facilities.
“Prime Healthcare understands the value these hospitals bring to their communities, and we intend to help the hospitals provide residents with the high quality healthcare they deserve,” said Prem Reddy, MD, president and CEO of Prime.
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
The acquisition is the second major transaction Prime has entered into recently. Last week, Daughters of Charity Health System — a six-hospital network based in Los Altos Hill, Calif. — agreed to sell six hospitals to Prime.
