Prime Healthcare finalizes purchase of 2 Missouri hospitals

Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services has completed its acquisition of 310-bed St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., and 146-bed St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Mo.

Prime Healthcare signed a definitive agreement to acquire the hospitals along with long-term care facilities and other assets of Kansas City-based Carondelet Health, which is part of St. Louis-based Ascension Health, in October 2014.

With the deal finalized, Prime Healthcare operates four hospitals in Missouri and 32 hospitals nationwide.
