CHS, LHP Emerge as Potential Suitors for Pennsylvania’s Mercy Health System

Scranton, Pa.-based Mercy Health System will not disclose the names of the organizations interested in acquiring its three hospitals, but a number of hospital employees have said Community Health Systems and Legacy Hospital Partners have reportedly shown interest, according to a Times-Tribune report.

Mercy announced plans to sell its assets in October, citing a need for capital. The system is expected to decide on a buyer by the end of the year.
