Pennsylvania Hospital’s Expansion Plans Approved

Plans for a $9.2 million expansion to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, Pa., has received recommendation for approval from the Wellsboro Borough Planning Commission, according to a report in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

Final approval is expected to be received on Dec. 28, when council will vote on the matter, according to the report.

The expansion plans include the addition of five treatment rooms to the emergency department, an expanded waiting area, a vending room with cafe style seating, a children’s play area, separate entrances for walk-in and ambulance patients, a two-ambulance garage and a second floor addition where endoscopy and same-day surgery departments will be housed, according to the report.
