Partners HealthCare System, South Shore Hospital Discuss Acquisition

Partners HealthCare System in Boston may be discussing an acquisition of South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Mass., according to a Boston Globe report.

Hospital officials did not confirm that Partners HealthCare intends to acquire South Shore, but professionals associated with both organizations told the Boston Globe an acquisition is being discussed.

Both hospitals have confirmed discussions of a potential expansion of the clinical alliance between South Shore and Partners-owned Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, according to the report.
