Palmetto Health explores partnership with 2 rural hospitals

Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Health is exploring a partnership with Lake City (S.C.) Community Hospital and Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree, S.C., which suspended services in February.

The three organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding to determine the viability of a partnership, according to The Kingstree News. Negotiations are underway for WRH and LCCH to join forces and then operate under the Palmetto Health umbrella.

Regarding the potential transaction, Palmetto Health told The Kingstree News the three organizations are working together to determine the viability of the partnership.
