Oklahoma system OK’d to take over hospital

A lease between Tulsa, Okla.-based Saint Francis Health System and Bristow (Okla.) Hospital Authority was approved Nov. 25 by the Bristow City Council.

Under the transition, Saint Francis will take over Bristow-based Carrus Lakeside Hospital in February 2026 to ensure continued healthcare access in the area, according to a Nov. 25 news release shared with Becker’s.

The hospital will also change its name to Saint Francis Bristow in February, a spokesperson for Saint Francis told Becker’s

“Our priority is continuing care and investing in a strong future for Bristow,” Cliff Robertson, MD, president and CEO of Saint Francis Health System, said in the release. “Rural hospitals are critical to community health and survival. We are proud to partner with Bristow to keep its hospital here for the long haul, and we’re excited to grow with the area.”

Saint Francis also runs its Warren Clinic in Bristow, which opened in 2023.

The system encouraged existing Carrus Lakeside employees to reach out regarding their employment and said it was committed to working with staff “to determine a path forward” in the release.
